PFL is being offered during the 2024 High School Summer Session. Due to the course being offered in a compacted format, daily attendance is mandatory. If you do not attend, you will not be able to take the course in the fall. Instead, you will be required to take the course during the following academic year (2025-26) as it is a graduation requirement.
Personal Financial Literacy, For students entering grades 11 or 12

Description: Financial literacy is defined as the ability to read, analyze, manage and communicate about the personal financial conditions that affect material well-being. It includes the ability to discern financial choices, discuss money and financial issues without (or despite) discomfort, plan for the future and respond competently to life events that affect everyday financial decisions, including events in the general economy. In this course you will learn about career decisions, money management, financial security, credit management, resource management, risk management, and consumer rights and responsibilities. The course will help you build a strong knowledge base and develop life skills as we study income, money management, spending and credit, saving and investing, and consumer protection.
